If you’re looking to keep things low-key while visiting Prince Rupert, try pitching a tent or renting a rustic cabin for your stay. Just outside of town at Prudhomme Lake, you’ll find a well-maintained provincial campground situated on the shores of a misty, mountainside lake. Wake up to the serene sounds of water lapping at the shore and the croons of lake birds. For a closer option, try a local campground within striking distance of the BC Ferries terminal.

An experience like no other on the misty shores of a long inlet, when you stay at the North Pacific Cannery, you’ll wake up in the middle of a national historic site. For a truly remote experience, check out floating lodge inside the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary, a protected area where you can safely view our majestic neighbours in their natural habitat.
