Portrait of a Seaweed Farmer
July 10 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$15Portrait of a Seaweed Farmer: Matt Obee
Seaweed farming is rapidly growing around the world. Seaweed helps to tackle the climate crisis, clean our oceans, and sustain coastal communities.
Who are the farmers responsible for growing this powerful crop? They hail from a diverse array of nationalities and professional backgrounds, united by a drive to help the world through their farms.
The World Wildlife Fund is pleased to present a series of short films to provide an intimate glimpse into the daily lives of three seaweed farmers.
At this event, you’re invited to meet Matt Obee, an engineer turned seaweed farmer who has connected the dots between passion and purpose. As the VP of Operations for Cascadia Seaweed, he’s using his technical expertise to optimize his team’s cultivation techniques and produce products that help combat climate change and build a more resilient food system.
Your ticket unlocks an opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while networking and connecting with individuals who are curious about seaweed farming, ocean health, and climate action. We will share a few short films that dive deeper into the power and potential of seaweed, and host a panel discussion with real-life seaweed farmer, Matt Obee.
