Your registration will be confirmed when an EMT is received. \n​Join Cat Sivertsen for her Artist in Residence workshop: learn how to create an artists book. No experience necessary\, just an open heart to play with materials and methods to create your own artists book. \nAn artists book is a book created by an artist and not a biography about an artist. It is experimental in the media and methods\, it could tell a story – or maybe not. It is always beautiful\, unique and relevant to the maker and\, of course\, the viewer.\nThe workshop will begin at the hardest part and that is\, getting started and\, as such Cat is delighted to share some of her ‘tricks of the trade’. These are based in simple drawing\, printmaking\, collage and writing processes to help you get your pencil\, pen\, brush and materials onto paper. You will then combine those into a take away as an artists book. The best part is you take home these tricks and exercises as part of your creative making practice.\n​\nJoin Cat for an enjoyable morning of playing with materials and methods to create an artists book. No experience necessary\, all materials are included and pre-registration is required as there are limited seats. You DO need to bring a packed lunch and an open heart for play.

DESCRIPTION:NBCTA\, Destination BC\, and Indigenous Tourism BC have scheduled destination development planning sessions to create a regional destination development strategy that integrates the results from our Northeast and Northwest Destination Development Strategies. This important work will also prepare the region for success to deliver iconic experiences as part of Destination BC’s Invest in Iconics Strategy. Your participation is critical to the success of the destination development process. \nFive in-person workshops will take place in June and July. \nThe May 17 and May 23 virtual sessions looked at the investments in destination development projects and progress made to date. Recordings are available here. \nCollectively\, tourism champions will review the progress to date\, identify gaps and future opportunities and gain an understanding of the status of tourism interests and the capacity of all communities. The importance of providing input in this bottom-up process cannot be understated. With NBCTA’s support\, the Indigenous engagement to involve community members and businesses is led by ITBC’s Northeast and Central Indigenous Tourism Specialist\, Angela Keech (angela@indigenousbc.com) or Northwest Indigenous Tourism Specialist\, Shawna Gosnell (shawna@indigenousbc.com). \nIf you are unable to attend the in-person workshop at a location near you but would like to provide input\, please contact april@nbctourism.com. More specifically\, a deep unsettled longing for something ‘else.’ An unapologetically melancholic indie-folk album born straight from the heartfelt reflections of Singer- Songwriter Teo Saefkow’s experiences with the concept of Sehnsucht\, and influenced by the folky- atmospheric confessional style of artists like Lucy Dacus and Gregory Alan Isakov. Scalawag’s sophomore album Sehnsucht deals with the multi- disciplinary artist’s attempt at finding meaning within relation. From the opening track’s examination of a doomed relationship\, to obsession with the thought of a loved one deciding never to return home in the album’s fourth track.\n\nA little about the show:\nShow starts at 8pm\n$10 at the door
