Meet a dozen Canadian teenagers who have used their innovative minds to make the world a better place. Discover 12 inventions\, including: a robotic heart that beats according to the patient’s level of exertion; a bad weather collector that transforms the energy created by rain and bad weather into electricity; the first super hero\, Superman. \nNavigate an obstacle course blindfolded wearing a belt equipped with ultrasound sensors; write sentences using Bliss-characters\, an Ideographic language; take a quiz to discover your personality type\, and much more. \nVenue: Museum of Northern BC \nOrganizer: Museum of Northern BC

DESCRIPTION:SHOW DETAILS\nLocation: Lester Centre of the Arts \nDoors open at 7:00pm\, show starts at 7:30pm – 9:30pm \n\n\n\nAcclaimed with numerous awards\, Oktopus is a major presence on the Canadian world music scene\, with over 250 performances to its credit at home and abroad. The group is primarily devoted to klezmer\, distinguished by a novel approach that incorporates various components of the classical and Quebecois repertoire\, with some jazz and Balkan accents. The eight virtuoso musicians offer festive\, high-energy performances\, at once melancholic and profound\, sprinkled with humour and spiced with narrative\, in which original compositions and finely-crafted arrangements combine with improvisation. Its members’ complicity\, shared passion\, and hard work are what makes each of their performances so memorable – whether on stage\, in the street\, on a ship\, in a hot air balloon\, or in your living room. \nOktopus is simply….spectentacular!
